How to reduce no-shows in your salon
Les articles sont pour l'instant écrits en danois et en anglais. Voici la version anglaise.
A client who does not show up costs you twice: the time is lost, and another client could have had it. Most no-shows are not bad will. People forget, or they do not dare call to cancel. You can build your way out of that.
1. Send a reminder automatically
An SMS the day before and an hour before makes a measurable difference. The key word is automatically: a reminder you have to remember to send does not get sent on busy days. And those are exactly the days it matters most.
2. Make cancelling easy
It sounds backwards, but an easy cancellation is a gift. A client who can cancel with one tap in the message frees the slot while it can still be sold. A client who has to call and apologise often simply stays away.
3. Take deposits on expensive slots
For long or expensive treatments, a small deposit at booking changes behaviour completely. Not because the amount is large, but because the appointment feels agreed. You write how the client pays, and you mark the amount received yourselves.
Start in one place
Turn on reminders first. It demands nothing of your clients and nothing of you when the system sends them itself. Watch the effect for a couple of weeks, then decide on deposits for the slots where no-shows hurt the most.
