Best booking system for hairdressers 2026: seven systems compared
If you search for “best booking system for hairdressers”, you get a long series of lists. Many of them are written by a vendor, and so is this one: we make NordBooq. So we have done two things. We have compared all the systems on the same seven points, and all the information about the other systems is taken from their own websites on 18 October 2026, with a link so you can check it yourself.
Prices change. Use this article as a starting point, and check the current price with the vendor before you choose.
How we compared
We looked at the seven things that matter most to a hair salon in everyday work:
- Price: the cheapest plan, and what the price is per (business, calendar or staff member). All prices exclude VAT.
- SMS: what a reminder costs, or whether it is included in the price.
- Deposits and payment: whether the client can pay or leave a deposit when booking.
- Stamp cards or punch cards: whether the system has something that rewards regular clients.
- Staff: how the price changes as the salon grows.
- Data in the EU: whether the vendor states that data is stored in the EU.
- Lock-in: whether you can cancel monthly.
Where we could not find a piece of information on the vendor’s own site, the table says “not found”. That does not mean the feature is missing, only that we could not see it.

The systems in brief
Planway
One of the most widely used systems among Danish hairdressers, with a free Starter plan and Premium at DKK 139 per staff member a month. Premium has free SMS reminders, gift cards, a waiting list and a point of sale system, and payments go through Planway Pay. Good for the salon that wants checkout and payment in the same system. We have written a longer comparison of NordBooq and Planway (in Danish).
Onlinebooq
The price follows the number of calendars: from DKK 149 a month for one calendar to DKK 599 for an unlimited number. SMS messages are bought in advance at DKK 0.89 each. Deposits can be taken via QuickPay, Stripe or PayPal at no extra fee from Onlinebooq.
Gecko Booking
Booking Solo costs DKK 195 a month with one calendar, and Standard DKK 295 with five. Extra calendars cost DKK 49 each. Many things are modules you buy on top, for example online payment and gift and punch cards. As a starting point, you pay in advance for three months at a time.
Pamp
Price per staff member from DKK 99 a month, with a number of SMS reminders included per calendar. Online payment via PampPay costs 2.5% + DKK 3 per transaction. No lock-in, and Pamp states that its servers are in the EU.
book.dk
A fixed price per business with no price per user, and SMS reminders are included in all plans, including the free one. Deposits, online payment and punch cards require Professionel (DKK 129 a month with annual billing) or Studio.
Fresha
An international system with a marketplace where new clients can find the salon. The price is DKK 105 a month for one practitioner or DKK 75 per staff member on Team. New clients from the marketplace cost a one-off commission of 20%, at least DKK 50. Fresha’s privacy policy says that data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA.
NordBooq
Our own. Basis costs DKK 59 per staff member a month with annual billing, or DKK 78.99 monthly with no lock-in, and each SMS costs DKK 0.49. The digital stamp card, campaigns, the waiting list and several locations are included in every plan. Team costs DKK 119 per staff member a month with annual billing, with the reminder text messages included, automatic client segments and Google stars on the booking page. Chair renters can have their own treatments, prices and figures, and the AI phone assistant is an add-on. NordBooq does not have gift cards, punch cards or a point of sale system.
Timma
Timma is not included, because we could not read the prices on Timma’s own website when the article was written. We only include information we have been able to check ourselves.
How to choose
Start with your own numbers, not with the list. Write down the number of staff, the number of bookings and the number of text messages per month, and work out each system’s price for exactly your salon. A system with a low starting price can become expensive for a team of five, and a system priced per business can be cheap for a large team.
Then ask about the things that are hard to change afterwards: where is the data stored, can you export clients and bookings yourself, and how long is the notice period? We have written more about this in how to choose a booking system, and about hidden costs in what a free booking system really costs.
Finally: try it. Book a demo or start a trial, and try booking an appointment as a client on your own phone. If it is awkward for you, it is awkward for your clients too.
